The sole trader, mover, maker and shaker, Lauren O'Meara, began her career as an abstract artist. She then founded The Fifth Design in the quest to create utilitarian art, to 'take art off the walls' and to make it an active part of people's lives. Here, the product range developed into creating homewares, forcing the art to be used, shared, dined and wined with. They are made to be laughed over, to indulge over and to bring a unique artistic beauty to a field where there often isn't any.

Lauren draws inspiration from the synonymous relationship between the observation of art and the observation of landscape. Her resin designs are made to reflect nature, and on a canvas of raw, organic wood, The Fifth Design promotes the statement that art and nature are one.
